Call Number
Guide to Major Areas of the Law *
This guide matches
major U.S. legal topics with their call numbers. Once you know the call number,
you may go to the library's shelves and browse for useful materials. You may
also browse "virtually" by clicking on the call number link. This
takes you to Ignacio, the USF libraries' online catalog. Ignacio will show what
materials (books, journals, Web sites, government documents, videos, etc.) with
those call numbers are available in USF's two libraries, the Zief Law Library
and Gleeson Library.
This is not a
comprehensive research tool; it is only a quick guide to selected topics and
call numbers. If this method does not help you find the material you need, go
to Ignacio to conduct a full search by author,
title, subject, or keyword. For further assistance, speak to a Zief Library
reference librarian or call 415-422-6773
The Zief Library will not necessarily have items in all of the call number
groups. In many cases, the Gleeson Library may also have materials in
a call number group. In some cases, no materials will be found under a
given call number at the current time.
