Construction Milestones

January 2001 - Dedication

August 2000 - Library opening

July 19, 2000 - Move of Library Collection

July 17, 2000 - Move of Library furniture

June 30, 2000 - Delivery of first furniture to Zief

February - March, 2000 -Interiors work ongoing

January 21, 2000 - Placement of the pre-cast panel with library name: Dorraine Zief Law Library

January 2000 - Pre-Cast concrete exterior panels placed

November 5, 1999 - "Topping Out" Party as last steel beam is placed.

October 1999 - October 2: poured first portion of concrete slab on grade - October 11: poured
second part of concrete slab - October 14: completed pour of slab on suspended platform -
October 19, 1999 Steel arrives and steel erection begins.

September 1999 - Pour of concrete for crawlspace - Site work & excavation completed &
preparation for 1st for slab pour ongoing - Sewer, water and vent lines for restrooms, drain
lines and hydraulic lines for elevators installed - Main lower level electrical and data conduit
lines trenched, installed and backfilled - Electrical floor boxes were laid out and installed.

August 1999 - Drilling and forming of structural piers completed - Installation of pipes for
plumbing and electric conduit begun - Construction of stair on east end of site begun.

June 1999 - New exit stairs for Kendrick Garage completed - Rebar for form work for column
cages for structural piers delivered June 7 - Concrete pour for grade beams, tie beam sand pier
caps June 18 - Soil removal and grading ongoing from June 21 - Drilling of additional
structural piers ongoing.

 

 

April - May 1999 - Construction underway: Demolition to Kendrick Hall to make room for
future stairway. Drilling Piers and placing rebar - Actual Groundbreaking: Monday April 6,
1999.
