Coverage and Content
Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (IFLP) on the web covers 1985 to the present.
(IFPL is available in print from 1960 to the present at K 33 .I522 Law Reference.)
IFLP contains
citations to articles, book reviews, essays, etc. published worldwide, in English
and other languages, in law journals and other legal periodicals. It does not
contain the full text of those articles. IFLP covers comparative law, public
international law, private international law, and the "municipal"
law of countries other than the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, and
Australia.

Search Options
There are two search options: simple search (the default) and Advanced Search. Choose a search
method, enter your terms, and select "Search" to run your search.
The "Help" button and "How do I…?" pull-down menu
lead to useful documentation.
Simple search allows searching by: keyword ("Anywhere"), subject, title, or author.
Advanced Search adds searching by citation, journal name, and other parameters.
IFLP allows the search "operators" and, or, near, and not.
IFLP keeps a "Search History," so you can return to previous search results. You
can also combine two or more previous searches.

Display of results
After completing a search, IFLP displays results 10 citations at a time. The "Change Display"
button lets you display up to 100 citations at a time.
The default display shows each article's title, author, journal name, volume, pages and date. The
"Complete Record" button lets you see all of the information about
an article.
