Leo has served as a litigation consultant in more than 1,000 criminal and civil trials. He has worked on high profile cases involving disputed interrogations and/or confessions, including the cases of Michael Crowe, Earl Washington, the Norfolk Four, and two of the Central Park jogger defendants, as well as numerous lesser-known cases with victims of coercive interrogation that received no media attention (2000 to present).

Leo has testified for the defense and prosecution as an expert witness in more than 180 cases at pre-trial suppressions hearings, jury and bench trials, and post-conviction proceedings in state, federal, and military courts in 26 states (2000 to present).
