Constitution

If you do not own a copy of the Constitution of the United States of America, both Lexis and Westlaw have made pocket-sized editions of the Constitution available to students. Check the shelve in in the Computer Training and Research Center.

U.S. Supreme Court Monitor, law.com's site offering Supreme Court news and commentary and monitoring which cases have been granted certiorari and which decisions each term have yet to be released. In the section covering cert. granted cases, the practice area "Criminal Practice" covers criminal procedure. (Free registration is required.)

CALI Lessons in Criminal Law & Procedure are available from the CALI web site. (Only a very few have relevance to criminal procedure.)

CALI Exercises are online, interactive tutorials. There are exercises for many law school courses, including Criminal Procedure. Law students who want to access these exercises will need the school's CALI authorization code. To get USF's CALI authorization codes, visit the Zief Library reference desk.

Exam Preparation Materials

There are several items at the Zief Law Library Circulation⁄Reserve Desk that can be used to prepare for exams.

Some professors have placed their old exams on reserve at the Zief Library's Circulation/Reserve Desk. Ask at the desk by course name or professor's name.

Since Criminal Procedure is both a California Bar Exam essay topic and a Multistate Bar Exam topic, some bar examination preparation material is also listed here. Note that some of the bar examination material may have a different focus than what your professor may be looking for. Essay Questions and Selected Answers: From the California Bar Examination (Call Number: KFC 76 .E87 Law Reserve for latest 5 years; older exams in Law Compact Storage) Essay questions and answers from past California bar exams. Check the front of each booklet to see if criminal procedure was an essay topic for that exam.

For a historical overview of the origins of the Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, and the Fifth Amendment protections against self-incrimination and double jeopardy, and the requirement for an indictment by a grand jury, see Leonard W.
