What is Civil Procedure? Civil Procedure is the set of legal doctrines that govern the bringing of lawsuits. It covers the questions: Can you sue at all? If so, where? And how do you go about suing someone else? An introductory overview of the issues involved can be found in Jay M. Feinman, Law 101, 2d ed., Chapter 4 "Your Day in Court: The Litigation Process" (2006) (Call Number: KF 387 .F45 2006 Law Open Reserve).
