Diane J. Klein

Visiting Professor

Over the past 15 years, Adjunct Professor Klein has taught wills and trusts and estate planning under the law of four states (California, New York, Texas, and Florida), and has published a number of articles in the area, focusing especially on tortious interference with expectation of inheritance, and most recently, with will-making from the perspective of philosophy of language ("How to Do Things With Wills," in the Whittier Law Review) and the inheritance consequences of polygamy ("Plural Marriage and Community Property Law," in the Golden Gate University Law Review). She is currently under contract with the ABA Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Section to edit a book tentatively entitled, Estate Planning for the LGBT Client and Beneficiary. Although originally from Los Angeles, she went to graduate school in the Bay Area, both of her children were born there, and she spends as much time there as she can. She is also part of the inaugural LLM class in USF's new LLM in Taxation program.
