Zdenek Kühn

Zdenek Kühn is associate professor of jurisprudence at Charles University School of Law, Prague. He has been awarded several international prizes including the Bolzano Prize and the Hessel Yntema Prize, Berkeley, California, for the best article by a scholar under 40 (published in vol. 52 of the American Journal of Comparative Law). In addition to publishing widely, Professor Kühn is a high court justice. In fall 2007, he was appointed by the Czech government to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg to serve as an ad hoc judge; in December 2007, he was appointed judge of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Czech Republic. Professor Kühn has taught at many U.S. law schools including Cornell University and University of South Carolina, and further educates judges in many European nations. He graduated from the Charles University School of Law in 1997 and received his Ph.D. degree there in 2001. He holds LLM and SJD degrees from the University of Michigan Law School.
