Before coming to teach at USF, Assistant Professor Carolyn Nelson Rowan worked at Miller Starr Regalia as a land use and environmental litigation associate. She served as editor and monthly contributor to the California Land Use Law and Policy Reporter and authored
“Continuous Operation Covenants in California: A Useful Tool for Keeping Retail Tenants Open in a Struggling Marketplace?” (California Real Property Journal, 2008), among other articles. Rowan previously interned with the Sierra Club and served as a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice Environmental and Natural Resources Division. She received her bachelor's degree from UC San Diego, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law.Education
