International Programs

The USF School of Law educates students to be effective lawyers with a social conscience, high ethical standards, and a global perspective.

Recognizing that globalization can offer great benefits to the promotion of justice and the protection of human rights, the USF School of Law has developed an innovative mix of international programs and focusing on contemporary issues and the law related conflicts of our complex society.

Summer Abroad Programs – For All ABA Law Students

Traditional summer study abroad programs are offered in Dublin, Ireland, Prague, Czech Republic and Puebla, Mexico. The programs focus on European Union and/or international law. At each location, the USF program is co-hosted by a distinguished European and/or Mexican law faculty. Students may combine the Dublin and Prague programs in order to learn about the emerging E.U. legal system in different national contexts. These summer study abroad programs are offered as part of the fully accredited curriculum of the USF School of Law. They are open to students who have completed at least one year of study at an ABA- and AALS-accredited U.S. law school and students at non-U.S. law schools.

Summer International Externships – For USF Students Only

The USF School of Law's Center for Law and Global Justice provides global summer internships for students in developing nations including Cambodia, Vietnam, China and the Philippines among others. Participating students apply the skills they have learned in law school at NGOs, international business law firms, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and foreign judicial offices. Externships bring students to dynamic law offices around the world and present unbounded opportunities for learning and growth in both human rights law and international business law. Externships are open to students who have completed one year of full-time study at the USF School of Law. Students must be in good academic standing.

Student Exchange Programs – For USF Students Only

The law school offers student exchange programs in the fall and spring terms in Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Spain, China and Czech Republic.
