“Donate-a-Day” Summer Pledge Program
In 2006, in partnership with USF Law Review and Moot Court members, PILF
expanded its fundraising efforts and institutionalized its Donate-a-Day Summer Pledge Program, which enabled students,
faculty, and other PILF supporters to donate a symbolic day or half day of
salary in support of the PILF summer grants. The Program initiative was led by
USF Law students who had secured big firm/paid summer associate positions as a
way to give back to fellow law students working in unpaid positions over the
summer and is a shining example of what the USF Law community and PILF is all
about.
Our annual Donate-a-Day Program continues to be a way for students,
professors, alumni and other professionals who have paid summer work to provide
support to the dozens of law students working to address gaps in our justice
system across the Bay Area, California, the United States, and in some cases,
abroad, as they do important public interest legal work over the summer. As a
result of this program, PILF has been able to provide additional grants each year.
