Alumni Meet Dean Trasviña at San Francisco Receptions
September 19, 2013
Dean John Trasviña welcomed 160 alumni and friends of the law school at two receptions in San Francisco, on Sept. 17 and 18, as part of the Meet the Dean regional reception series.

Alumni networked with each other, faculty, and staff, and had the opportunity to speak with Dean Trasviña personally. When he addressed the group, Dean Trasviña spoke about how USF is “making sure we are nimble enough to get ahead in this economy, making sure we are training our students, and that’s what brought me back home to San Francisco.”
“It’s not our fathers’ or our mothers’ law school anymore,” Trasviña said. “The technology is different, the approaches are different, the faculty is different. But we have the same values and concepts and beliefs that attracted you to USF whether it was class of ’64 or ’66 or the recent classes that just graduated.”

The receptions were held at Nixon Peabody and Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger, with support from event co-chairs Doris Cheng '98, Carolyn Collins '78, and Tom Trombadore '88.
Additional Meet the Dean receptions are being held in San Jose, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Reno this fall, and Sacramento in the spring. For more information and to register for an upcoming event, please visit our alumni events page.
