Throughout the past week the USF School of Law community has gathered for several events to celebrate the Class of 2011, who graduated on Saturday in a beautiful ceremony in St. Ignatius Church where our own Justice Ming Chin ’64 of the California Supreme Court delivered an inspiring commencement address. Through it all, the phrase "law school community"—faculty, staff, and alumni—was top of mind for me. Our students succeed because of the dedication of our faculty, the support of our staff, and the inspiration they get from our alumni. For me, what makes our alumni most special is their willingness and passion to help our graduates succeed—traits that are particularly critical in these times. The truth is that we’re all in this together for the long haul. As difficult times pass, which they inevitably will, may we all work together to create the humane and just world that we all so passionately want.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey S. Brand
