Important Financial Aid Deadlines

Students should familiarize themselves with the important dates below. You can also view this calendar here.

February 15Priority deadline to apply for the 2013—14 FAFSA application—NEW ADMITS (Note: The Feb. 15 priority deadline is to ensure that financial aid award notices are sent to new admits by early April—new admits can still submit a FAFSA after Feb. 15 and any FAFSA submitted after Feb. 15 will still be processed by the federal government. All new admits who have submitted a FAFSA and listed USF on their FAFSA will receive a Financial Aid Award notice regardless of when the FAFSA is submitted.)
March 01Begin applying for summer private loan for the Summer 2013 term -CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
March 02Priority deadline for 2013-14 FAFSA and FAFSA renewal applications—CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
April 01Deadline to submit Intent to Enroll for Summer 2013 Form (ITE) along with your summer 2013 PLUS loan application for the USF summer, summer abroad, and intensive advocacy programs (Note: You can submit after April 1, but your loan may not be certified or approved in time to meet summer tuition deadlines.) CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
April 01Last day to submit a Graduate PLUS loan application for the fall 2012– spring 2013 academic year - CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
April 01Last day to submit Budget Increase Request for the 2012–13 academic year - CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
April 01USF begins sending out Financial Aid Award notices for the upcoming fall 2013/ spring 2014 academic year to all law students who have completed a FAFSA application
May 01Anticipated summer 2013 disbursement date for private loans- CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
May 01Priority deadline for all law students to "accept" Federal Direct Unsubsidized loans for the fall 2013-2014 academic year via USF Connect account
May 01Summer 2013 tuition payment deadline- CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
May 15Anticipated summer 2013 disbursement date for federal aid including PLUS loans- CONTINUING LAW STUDENTS
June 01All law students begin applying for Graduate PLUS or private loans for fall 2013 and spring 2014
June 01New Loan Borrowers-begin completing on-line Master Promissory Note and On-line Debt Management Counseling Session for William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan as well as the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan. You only need to do this once while at USF School of Law
July 15New Loan Borrowers- Priority deadline to complete ALL disbursement requirements associated with the Federal Direct Unsubsidized and Graduate PLUS loans
July 15Priority deadline to complete On-line Refund Authorization Form for excess aid refunds
July 15Priority deadline for all students to submit a Graduate PLUS Loan application for fall 2013-spring 2014
August 01Fall 2013 tuition payment deadline
August 13Anticipated fall 2013 disbursement date for federal and private loans
