Biography

Stephen Murphy is the associate director of the Alameda County Family Justice Center in Oakland. The center provides wrap-around services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, elder abuse, and child abuse.

Prior to his work with the Family Justice Center, Stephen was the founder and managing partner of Murphy, Vu, Thongsamouth and Chatterjee, LLP. Murphy, Vu, Thongsamouth & Chatterjee is a community-based boutique law firm offering high quality legal representation in the areas of women’s rights, family, immigration, and estate planning law. Stephen graduated from UC Berkeley in 1995 and USF School of Law in 2001. Stephen, his wife Monalisa, and their three children live in Berkeley.
