Edward G. Heidig is a senior tax attorney with the Tax Appeals Assistance Program. Previously, he served as chief deputy director for the Department of Managed Health Care and was later asked by the Brown Administration to serve as interim director. Prior to that, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Ed to be general counsel and deputy secretary of the Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency in May 2004. Previously, he served as general counsel to the Diocese of Sacramento, was appointed by Governor Wilson as the director of the Office of Administrative Law, served the Wilson Administration as the deputy secretary for legislation for the Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency, and served as the director of conservation. Previously, he was the legislative assistant for environment and energy for then-Senator Peter Wilson. After passing the California Bar, Ed served as general counsel to the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority.
