Adjunct Professor Donald G. Parachini, an attorney at Leland, Parachini, Steinberg, Matzger & Melnick, LLP, is a veteran banking attorney who also advises businesses on financial and corporate matters. His area of expertise is banking law, including lending, operations, formation of new banks, bank holding companies, acquisitions, mergers, and regulatory and securities matters. Prior to entering private practice, he served as counsel in the legal department of a major California bank until he joined Cerf, Robinson & Leland, which is the predecessor firm to Leland, Parachini, Steinberg, Matzger & Melnick, LLP. In addition to helping establish and sell a number of California community banks, Don served for 25 years as director of the California subsidiary of a large Japanese bank. He co-teaches Regulation of Financial Institutions.
