Dean Search
The University of San Francisco invites applications and
nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Law.
Founded in 1912, the law school is celebrating 100
years dedicated to excellence in legal education, scholarship, and service in
the pursuit of justice. Its 33 full-time
faculty and 671 students, among the most diverse in the nation, have established
a vibrant and welcoming community. Faculty members are productive, engaged, and
collegial. The curriculum offers innovative programs in a collaborative
learning environment, and provides students with the ethical and practical
skills to succeed in a changing and increasingly global legal market.
The law school and university are seeking a leader who can build
on the law school’s strengths while providing the vision to evolve and thrive.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent management and communication skills,
have the capacity to establish a visible presence for the law school to its
many constituencies, and be committed to fundraising as a central focus. We are
seeking candidates who embrace the university’s inclusive vision, mission, and values,
which promote respect for all, ethical reflection, humanity, and the pursuit of
justice.
