PhishMe

USF has adopted PhishMe as a required aspect of our institutional Security Education Training and Awareness program. The goal of PhishMe is to assist University Faculty, Staff, and Affiliates avoid spear phishing scams and identity theft.

Overview

As wikipedia explains, “Phishing is the act of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and sometimes, indirectly, money) by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication” [1]. PhishMe simulates spear phishing attempts with a clear objective - if you click a link within a real phishing email your personal information may become instantly compromised without you realizing it. If you click a link within a PhishMe email, you are directed to awareness and educational information to aid you in avoiding such phishing scams in the future. Additional information is provided below.
