Subject: Message From the President

Date: March 29, 2007

Dear Members of the University Community:

As you may know, the University is currently engaged in a major effort to replace its entire administrative information systems.  This effort, named Project Banner On Board (BOB), has now been underway for 14 months and will continue through the summer of 2008.

This week, we celebrate the launch of the first major module, the Advancement piece of the system.  Please join me in expressing support and appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the BOB Advancement team and the ITS staff responsible for building this piece of the new technology infrastructure.   I presume there is no need to underscore how crucial this project is to every aspect of the University's work and that BOB is a huge leap forward in realizing our strategic goal of forging "technology solutions to enhance learning and improve service."

Work on the remaining modules - Finance, Student Records, Human Resources and Financial Aid - is ongoing and intense through 2008.  I ask that we all remain aware that our colleagues working on these implementations are especially challenged this calendar year, and that we do whatever we can to be supportive of them and flexible with other demands on their time.  Focused effort is required for this all-important project to be completed with the necessary functionality, on time and within budget.

Congratulations and sincere thanks to the BOB Advancement team and the IT staff responsible for this ongoing effort!

Sincerely,
Stephen A. Privett, SJ
President
