Media Services

Audio Visual Media Services provides video and audio recording, format conversion and duplication, online video streaming and live event streaming, as well as teleconferencing downlinks.

Videotaping

Video and Audio Recording: Student technicians are available to record classes and academic, administrative, or performing arts events on main campus. Make a recording request via the self-service online reservation form accessible by clicking the Event & Room Request button in the USF Calendar tab, when logged into USF Connect.

Reservations must be made a minimum of one full week prior to the date of the recording and are staffed on a first-come, first-served basis up to our capacity. If you need assistance with the form, or want to follow up on a request, please contact the Help Desk, which serves as the primary point of contact for taping requests. All late requests may be made through the Help Desk.

Video Streaming: Recordings can be posted online, to our on-site streaming video server, to youtube, or elsewhere, and/or delivered via viewable DVD or files. We can deliver embed code for posting to Ektron webpages at USF. Video streaming securely to Canvas is available to interested faculty and staff as well as student organizations. For more information about these services, please check the Streaming Services website.

Reserving Digital Camcorders and Cameras: Digital camcorders, cameras, ipads, ipods, and voice recorders can be checked out by faculty/staff/students through the Center for Instruction and Technology for a maximum period of one week. Call x2223 or email cit@usfca.edu if you have any questions about these services.

Duplication Services: Any individual with a valid USF ID may use the copier located in CIT to transfer VHS tapes to DVD as long as they have the proper copyright permission. Duplication and transfer of video tapes and DVDs is also possible, with proper copyright permission, through the AV department. Email mediaservices@usfca.edu to request this service.

Please see the Duplication & Media Conversion Services page for more information.
