The Information Technology Services division recognizes outstanding performance and contributions to the USF community with a set of five annual awards.
Professional Growth Award
The Professional Growth Award is granted to the ITS staff member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in one or more areas requiring significant professional development and the acquisition of new skills. Candidates for this award should have a track record of extraordinary initiative and a positive results-driven attitude.
Technical Achievement Award
The Technical Achievement Award is granted to the ITS staff member who has demonstrated mastery of advanced technical concepts, tools, and/or best practices for the benefit of the University community. This mastery exceeds the level of technical proficiency required for his or her essential job functions, providing expertise that adds value to projects and/or operations.
Client Service Award
The Client Service Award is granted to the ITS staff member who has provided extraordinarily high quality service to USF clients. High quality service is characterized by timely response, friendly demeanor, careful needs assessment, immediate resolution or appropriate escalation, frequent status updates, and helpful follow-up.
Team Player Award
The Team Player Award is granted to the ITS staff member who has become the "go-to" person for ITS projects and/or operational tasks. This staff member takes the initiative to identify tasks for completion, finds solutions to problems, meets deadlines, communicates well with colleagues, and supports fellow team members to achieve positive outcomes.
Abe Baggen Memorial IT Excellence Award
The Abe Baggen Memorial IT Excellence Award is granted to the ITS staff member who has demonstrated outstanding performance in all three areas described above: technical achievement, client service, and team contributions. This staff member leads the ITS division as a whole with his/her example of competence, commitment, and positive energy.
- Eligibility: Staff must have a minimum of one full year of service in USF ITS. Directors are not eligible. Staff may not win the same award multiple times.
- Nomination Process: Nominations are encouraged from all members of ITS and the University community. Self nominations are accepted.
