The University of San Francisco: International Student and Scholar Services

All international students and visiting scholars who were physically present in the U.S. in F, J, M or Q status in 2012 are required by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to complete and submit certain U.S. tax forms, even if they did not earn any money in the U.S. during 2012. In general, U.S. tax forms from individuals must be submitted by April 15, 2013.

Tax Preparation Software: Glacier Tax Prep

To assist you in complying with your U.S. tax filing requirements, USF is offering a FREE online tax preparation software called "Glacier Tax Prep: Complete International Tax Preparation." This software is available to you in two ways.  Access to the software depends on your situation.

Option #1

If you have already created an account in the university's GLACIER system, then you should log into GLACIER and, when you reach the "What would you like to do today?" screen, you should click on the "Access Glacier Tax Prep" link.  NOTE: This link will not be available to you until you have received your 1042-S form.  You should receive this form sometime during the first two weeks of March 2013.  For instructions on how to access Glacier Tax Prep through GLACIER, click here.

Option #2

For all students who do not already have a GLACIER account, you can access Glacier Tax Prep now through your USFconnect account.  Please follow these directions to log in:

1.       Log into USF Connect

2.       Click on the Student, Alumni, or Employee tab
