Students in the United States on the F-1 or J-1 student visas are required to complete full-time studies each semester.
Full-time enrollment for undergraduate students is 12 credit hours per semester.
Full-time enrollment for LLM students is 10 credit hours per semester.
Full-time enrollment for JD students is 12 credit hours per semester.
Full-time enrollment for graduate students is 6 credit hours per semester.
Exceptions to the USCIS full-time requirement are made under certain circumstances; please contact the International Student and Scholar Services office for details. Students who are maintaining status are permitted an annual vacation period during the year if they intend to enroll the following term. Before you leave the United States for a vacation period (such as summer or winter break), you must show proof that you intend to return to your program either by registering for at least one unit or by submitting a deposit payment to One Stop.
