Health Insurance for Graduate Students

Health insurance is an investment in your well-being and peace of mind.

Population Registered for Requirement
U.S., living off campus 0-5 credit hours Not eligible to purchase USF health insurance
U.S., living off campus 6+ credit hours Eligible to purchase USF health insurance (not required)
U.S., living on campus Any number of credit hours Must purchase USF health insurance (you will not be automatically enrolled or charged)

For more information on the USF-sponsored health insurance plan, including benefits, cost, and claims, visit Student Plan.

Graduate students who are required or eligible to purchase the USF-sponsored health insurance plan should follow these steps to enroll:

  1. Go to the Aetna Member Navigator Website.
  2. In the left navigation menu, click on "Medical Plan: Enroll."
  3. Click on the submenu "Graduate Students."
  4. Click on "Enroll: Graduate Students."
  5. Follow the prompts to enter all the necessary information to enroll.
  6. After entering all the necessary information, pay using a Visa or Mastercard.

Important Dates:

  • Open enrollment for Spring 2013 will begin on November 5th, 2012.
  • Deadline to enroll for Spring 2013 will end on February 1, 2013 at 5 PM.
