Hepatitis B is a virus that causes acute or chronic disease of the liver. Although chronic hepatitis B affects approximately 2 million Americans, most of these people remain unaware of their hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
University of San Francisco (USF) has teamed up with California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) to bring San Francisco Free Hepatitis B screening and immunization program to USF campus.
USF students, staff, and faculty are welcome to take advantage of the FREE Hepatitis B screening:
Date: Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Location: University Center (UC) 504
After the screening, results can be picked up on Tuesday, October 18, in UC 504 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Individuals who don’t have immunity to Hepatitis B will be offered free Hepatitis B vaccinations. Hepatitis B vaccine series is given over seven-month period. Individuals who complete Hep B series will receive a $30 Don Dollar reward.

- Tuesday, 10/18/2011 11:00:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Tuesday, 11/15/2011 11:00:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Tuesday, 4/24/2012 11:00:00 AM to 3:00:00 PM
- Room: UC 504
Individuals who are identified as chronic carriers will be receive one-on-one counseling on chronic HBV by CPMC staff who will mange these individuals’ care and referral to their health insurance provider network.
All program participants’ information, test results, clinical data will be maintain in strict confidence by CPMC staff.
Phlebotomy and Immunization services will be conducted by USF School of Nursing graduate students who will be supervised by a faculty member.
