The University of San Francisco: Emergency Medical Response Service

Services Offered

Service Goals

The goals of our services aim to reach a critical mass of individuals on campus to raise community awareness about specific health issues, and to provide service and promote goodwill on campus. EMRS-sponsored community health education on alcohol poisoning, seeking medical attention, and disaster preparedness exemplify applications of this aspect. Our services strengthen the individual knowledge and skills of our community members, and create a safe, healthy, and more prepared environment on our campus.

American Heart Association Hands-Only CPR or “Sidewalk CPR”

The American Heart Association and the NCEMSF use hands only CPR to educate large numbers of people to perform CPR for perfusion only effects. Hands Only CPR has been shown to more than double the chance of survival (Sayre et al., 2008). This is a free service offered to our community. Please contact us to schedule a Hands-Only CPR session for your club, department, or organization at emrs@usfca.edu.

USFEMRS Medical Standby Services

Certified EMTs who provide basic medical support for campus special events, large gatherings, and sporting events. Our services help prevent potential liability and promote a safe, prepared environment. We will assess your needs to determine provision of First Aid stations and foot patrols using the information you provide about the event.
