The University of San Francisco: Emergency Medical Response Service

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I contact EMRS?

If you have an on Campus Emergency call 2-9-1-1 with a campus phone, or (415) 422-2911 with a cell phone or off campus phone. No one ever expects to call for emergency medical services so be prepared by plugging the number into your phone in case of a medical emergency. Our office number for administrative and other questions is (415) 422-2394. We are located in UC, on the 5th floor.

Do you only respond to students on campus?

EMRS responds to all calls from persons (students, faculty, staff, bystanders) on the "hilltop" campus. A EMRS campus boundaries and buildings map can be found under service area boundaries and anyone within these boundaries can call EMRS, regardless of affiliation with USF.

How much does it cost?

There are no charges for services rendered by calling EMRS. If your illness or injury requires a higher level of care, and transport is needed to a local hospital, EMRS will arrange that transport.

Will my classmates know if I call?

The squad members of EMRS can never disclose any medical information about patient identity of medical condition because of federal patient confidentiality laws.
