The University of San Francisco: Health Promotion Services

Alcohol & Drugs

According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, about four out of five college students across the United States drink alcohol. About half of those students consume alcohol through binge drinking. University of San Francisco students are not immune to these facts, so we think it’s time to start an honest dialogue.

As we strive to create a socially responsible campus, USF requires all first-year and transfer undergraduate students to take Think About It, a science-based online course that prepares students for the unique challenges of college life. Additionally, students who violate the alcohol and other drugs policy will be required to attend a Brief Motivational Intervention (BMI), a confidential, non-judgmental conversation with a USF peer educator.
