What has grown into the largest and one of the most exciting intercollegiate boxing event in the nation is about to become even bigger. We are excited to announce this year boxers from schools such as UC Berkeley, Stanford, Santa Clara, San Jose State, San Francisco State, UC Davis, UNLV, Nevada-Reno, and USF, have been invited to compete to give Hispanic high school students a fighting chance to receive a college education.
The HILLTOP CUP is the product of student leadership at USF, for it all started in 2004 as an idea of one USF student who wanted to promote an activity that would allow underrepresented students to attend USF.
USF’s Recreational Sports Department has provided the leadership and organization to promoting the HILLTOP CUP and its success.
Sanctioned by USA Boxing and the National Collegiate Boxing Association, the HILLTOP CUP events have brought record-breaking audiences, empowered students, created a sense of community in the Bay Area, and raised thousands of dollars to benefit Hispanic students.
