USF in Budapest

The Program

  • You never stop being a USF student and you can take up to 18 credits per semester
  • All credits taken in the program count toward your graduation at USF or can be transferred to other universities
  • If you stay for two semesters in Budapest, you can fulfill the majority of the requirements for the European Studies Certificate
  • All financial aid awarded by USF can be applied to cover the costs of the program (except work-study)
  • Tuition and housing costs are identical to those in San Francisco
  • Classes are taught by USF professors as well as by distinguished Hungarian faculty
  • All classes are taught in English
  • Every semester, a 10 day break allows you to travel to neighboring countries to explore the changing Europe. Visits may include Vienna, Prague, Bratislava, Maribor, Zagreb, Dubrovnik
  • Small classes: No more than 26 students
  • The program follows USF's class schedule
  • Long weekends built into the class schedule will allow you to travel throughout Europe taking advantage of Hungary's central location and low travel prices
  • The program organizes trips to Eastern European cities (Krakow-Auschwitz, Prague and Vienna) that complement the material taught in class.
  • Students live in apartments in the heart of the city, close to the university and Budapest's exciting cultural and entertainment centers.
