The Campaign for USF

Dear Friends,

With a goal of $175 million and a final tally of $178 million, The Campaign for USF was the most ambitious and successful fundraising drive in the history of the University of San Francisco. Alumni and friends like you went above and beyond in support of the campaign, which has in turn allowed the university to achieve and even surpass its goals for transforming campus facilities and supporting students and faculty.

Evidence of this success is palpable across campus. The School of Business and Management now has a new home in Malloy Hall. The School of Law has settled into a completely renovated Kendrick Hall. The Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning has  new headquarters in an entirely remodeled Fromm Hall (formerly Xavier Hall). Student athletes enjoy new locker rooms, showers, training facilities, and other enhancements in War Memorial Gymnasium. Performing arts students have new and upgraded theater space. Classrooms across campus have been equipped with advanced educational technology. And there’s more to come: We are in the midst of a complete reconstruction of Kalmanovitz Hall (formerly Campion Hall) and a new science building is in the design phase.

While the physical transformation of campus has been striking, The Campaign for USF at its core was about people, the students and faculty who are the heart and soul of USF. These are the individuals who truly inspired support above and beyond our goals.

Nearly $50 million was raised for endowed scholarships, far surpassing the initial goal of $30 million. USF will be able to offer an additional 225 scholarships of $10,000 each year in perpetuity to promising students. With $26 million raised to support the endowment of faculty and academic programs, the scholars who mentor our students and steward our Jesuit mission have more resources with which to teach and discover.

The true success of The Campaign for USF, however, cannot be measured in dollars and cents. It is measured by the thousands of students and hundreds of faculty members whose lives will be enriched through scholarships, enhanced academic programs, and inspiring learning facilities. Your support for the campaign is a strong endorsement of the campaign’s theme and the university’s mission: Educating Minds and Hearts to Change the World.

On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff at USF, we thank you for your extraordinary support of The Campaign for USF.

Sincerely,

Stephen A. Privett, S.J.
