Maurice Jay Penner

Professor of Public Management

Maurice Penner is an innovative sociologist known for his extensive research in health care policy and organization theory. His research on worksite smoking, smoking cessation, and the health care costs for tobacco using employees resulted in a dozen presentations and articles, as well as his past research on Physician Organization Managing resulted in a book. His current research on the relationship between Medicare coverage and patient co-pay builds on more than 20 years of research. During his two decades at USF Maurice became a tenured professor, as well as his department's chair, and an associate director.
