Leslie Woodhouse earned her Ph.D. in Asian history from the
University of California, Berkeley. She has done fieldwork in
Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom, and was a
Fulbright IIE Fellow in Thailand from 2004-05. Her current research
compares the social and political roles played by wives and
concubines in royal "harems" across both South and Southeast
Asia.
