Father Recio is a member of the Jesuit Community at the
University of San Francisco and teaches Asian-American literature
and Composition/Rhetoric courses for the Saint Ignatius Institute.
Fr Recio is interested in questions around literature and American
nativity, postcolonialism, identity politics, and gender/sexuality.
He has also worked as a parish priest, hospital chaplain, retreat
director, high school teacher, and as a case worker for troubled
youth and prostitutes. His course in Asian-American literature
features writings by Jessica Hagedorn, Peter Bacho, Gina Apostol,
Eric Gamalinda, and various other writers from the Asian
diaspora.
