Christy Newman has a B.A. in English from City College of New York,
an M.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts, and an
Ed.D. in Administration and Supervision from Boston College. She
has taught ESL at institutions ranging from a county prison to
Harvard University and authored over 20 ESL textbooks and test
preparation guides. Since moving to California in 2006, Christy has
taught ESL and composition at the University of San Francisco. She
also conducts writing workshops for faculty at Pontificia
Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia.
