Adjunct Professor, was raised in South Texas, where he was
educated in public schools before attending the University of Texas
at Austin. There he studied music, literature, and languages. He
received a doctorate in Classics at Princeton University with a
dissertation on early Greek poetry and language.
García's current interests include folklore and
traditional verbal arts, epic and balladry, and Native America.
Here at the University of San Francisco he teaches Ancient Greek
language, Classical literature and culture, and, on occasion,
Spanish.
