George Stieren
Adjunct Instructor
Mr. Stieren is a Public Relations Consultant and was the
Director of Business Public Relations & Special Events for the
San Diego Padres. He oversaw the club's public relations
efforts and external messaging. His credits include coordinating
the team's weekend-long closing ceremonies for Qualcomm
Stadium and Opening Ceremonies for PETCO Park, Tony
Gwynn's retirement and National Baseball Hall of Fame
election, establishing a Padres Hall of Fame, as well as leading
the PR activities surrounding the Padres ballpark opening. He began
his professional career as a television sports reporter, before
working in the minor leagues for three seasons, eventually serving
as Assistant General Manager. Stieren holds a Bachelors Degree in
Communications from Eastern Illinois University, and a Master of
Science in Sport Management from the United States Sports
Academy.
