Mr. Murray offers 20+ years experience in the professional
sports industry and is the Senior Director of Event Presentation of
the Pittsburgh Penguins. His specific areas of expertise are on
maximizing the fan experience through game presentation and on
creating electronic multi-media content for everything from
in-arena presentation to branded website and broadcast
programming.
Murray began his professional sports career at Anaheim Stadium in
1988 as a part-time JumboTron control room operator at a time when
live sporting events and venues were rapidly migrating towards the
integration of sophisticated multi-media systems as part of the
game day experience. His roles have evolved from Video Producer to
Game Director to Department Head to Director of Entertainment and
Multi-Media and his tenure has included creative leadership
positions with the California / Anaheim Angels (MLB), Cleveland
Cavaliers / Rockers (NBA / WNBA), and Anaheim Ducks (NHL). He has
served as President and Executive Board member of the Information
Display and Entertainment Association (IDEA), and his work has been
recognized numerous times for creative presentation and programming
excellence. Rod has a B.A. from Indiana University.
