Instructor

Leslie King is an Instructor in the Department of Biology. She received her B.S. in Zoology from the University of California, Davis in 1989 and her M.A. in Physiology and Behavioral Biology from San Francisco State in 1993. Prof. King's graduate research focused on hemoglobin-oxygen affinities in adult and fetal swell sharks (Cephaloscyllium ventriosum) and she participated in field studies of shark behavior and feeding in the Bahamas. Although she is still fascinated by shark behavior and physiology, her interests have shifted to human cardiovascular physiology and exercise physiology. In addition, she is interested in science and health communication, specifically in exploring the use of in-class technology to teach concepts in physiology. Prof. King has taught General Biology lecture and lab courses at U.S.F. and she currently teaches human physiology and coordinates and supervises undergraduate general biology and physiology lab sections.
