School of Management — Organizations Leadership and Communication

Neil D. Walshe

Assistant Professor

Neil's principle area of research is virtue and morality in organizations, specifically the role of courage and cowardice in organizational life. His work explores the psychological mechanisms and consequences of virtuous behaviour as part of expected occupational roles. By focusing on high-risk occupations such as ordnance disposal, private military contracting, and air traffic control, Neil attempts to develop greater insight into how workers construct and enact virtuous behaviour in the workplace. Most recently, he has directed attention towards an exploration of the role morality in the defense and armaments industry and the relationship between fear and courage among military ordnance disposal teams..
