Sweta Thota

Assistant Professor

Sweta Chaturvedi Thota came to University of San Francisco in 2008 from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Before teaching, Sweta was involved in the global business world, working for companies such as ICICI Bank in New Delhi, Herald Publications in Bombay, and Real Value Marketing Services in New Delhi.

Sweta's research interests are mainly in consumer behavior with particular emphasis on consumers' emotional and psychological responses to various issues such as pricing, consumer search and advertising effects. Her research has been published in numerous academic journals such as Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Psychology, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Satisfaction, Dissatisfaction and Complaining Behavior, Academy of Marketing Studies, Journal and Journal of Applied Business and Economics. Sweta has presented her research at leading national and international conferences such as Association for Consumer Research, American Marketing Association, Academy of Marketing Science, Society for Marketing Advances and Direct/Interactive Marketing Research Summit hosted by Direct Marketing Educational Foundation.

Sweta brings her expertise in pricing, advertising and marketing to the classroom. While teaching, Sweta seeks to create a stimulating learning environment and encourages students to apply marketing concepts to real-life problems. Sweta has consistently been given exceptionally high ratings by her students.
