Dayle Smith previously held appointments at Georgetown
University and USC. Currently at USF, she directs the Business
Honors Cohort Program in addition to teaching Organizational
Behavior, Global Management, Strategy and other management
electives in the MBA for Executives, MBA and undergraduate
programs.
Through the university she has worked with a number of executive
programs including the Kaist Korean Executive Program, the Helsinki
Managers Group, Northern Ireland Small Business Institute, Nippon
Telephone & Telegraph, and the China Resources Executive MBA.
She has taught internationally in Hong Kong, Mainland China and
Tbilisi, Georgia. Additionally, Professor Smith has been active in
the role of service learning in an academic environment, receiving
a national Top 10 finalist Ehrlich Award Spring of 2004,
recognizing her work in research, teaching and curriculum
development at both the school and university level.
In 2008, Professor Smith was awarded the University Service
Learning Award and again nominated for the National Ehrlich Award.
Her work in this area continues through the new Summer Public
Service Internship Program (PSIP) where she places her students in
paid internship opportunities with Bay Area non-profits agencies
that address a full range of social issues including homelessness,
healthcare, at-risk youth, children with disabilities, social
entrepreneurship and community redevelopment (see

Her research interests include leadership, teambuilding and group
effectiveness, corporate culture, e-business, service learning and
a number of human resource-related topic areas. Recent books
include: Learning Team Skills (2008); Management Communication 3nd
edition w/ Art Bell (Wiley, 2008) and Difficult People at work: How
to cope, How to win (MJF Books/Fine Communication, 2006); The
E-Business Book (Bloomberg Press), Women at Work: Leadership for

coaching in addition to providing research and development work on
