Cathy Goldberg
Associate Professor
Professor Cathy S. Goldberg has received many accolades for
her accomplishments as a scholar, researcher, and professor. Cathy
began at USF in 1999 as a lecturer on Corporate Finance in the MBA
program at the School of Management. She was soon offered a term
appointment as an Assistant Professor in Spring 2001 due to
outstanding student ratings.
During her time teaching classes in Corporate Finance, Investments,
and International Finance, Cathy has received the highest overall
SUMMA evaluation in the School of Management for the Fall 2001,
Fall 2002, Fall 2003, Fall 2004, Spring 2006 and Spring 2009
semesters. Cathy has been awarded the USFFA University-Wide
Distinguished Teaching Award, and four Outstanding Teaching Awards
within the School of Management. Primarily, Cathy's
research focuses on Corporate Finance and Emerging Markets with a
specific interest in Financial Integration, Country Risk and
Currency Contagion. Cathy's most recent work "Venture
Capitalists Confidence, Asymmetric Information, and Liquidity
Events" was published in the Journal of Small Business and
Entrepreneurship. Cathy's published works on international
finance have examined the emerging markets and financial
integration of South Africa, Thailand, Mexico, and the Czech
Republic. Cathy has her PhD in Finance and her MA in Education/
Mathematics.
