Anthony Ribera

Director / Term Assistant Professor

Dr. Ribera came to USF in 1996 after retiring as the Chief of the San Francisco Police Department. He wrote the original curriculum for the Law Enforcement Leadership Program (LEL). The first LEL cohort started in September of 1997. He has taught in the LEL program and in Public Administration. Dr. Ribera currently teaches Law Enforcement Leadership (PA 400) and the Field Project (PA 368) in the BPA program.

In 2001 USF initiated the International Institute of Law Enforcement Leadership. Dr. Ribera was appointed the Institute's director. The Institute provides ethical leadership training for practitioners in the criminal justice system. The Institute's annual symposium has emerged as a leading venue for law enforcement management training. Dr. Ribera also served for 18 years as an adjunct faculty member at City College of San Francisco.
