Fran Ferrante

Adjunct Professor

Fran Ferrante earned her B.A. in English in 1974 in her native New York, and she commenced and completed her graduate work two decades later, in Northern California, as she desired to teach college writing. She has taught at USF since 2002 where she primarily teaches the transfer student writing course 250 and her SIT seminar - Immigration Rhetoric -- which focuses on anti-immigration policies and attitudes in contrast to the idealized immigrant community. She strives to prove to her students that they all have the capacity to write eloquently and convincingly and that academic writing trains the mind for life beyond the university.
