Research Experience

• University of California, Berkeley - 7/89 to 1992
  Graduate Student Researcher to Professors James Lincoln and Michael Gerlach. Collaborated on all facets of research projects. Projects include longitudinal study of network ties among top 50 Japanese financial firms and top 200 industrial firms. Activities included translation of articles and data related to director, equity and trade networks from Japanese to English; participated in assembling and maintaining dataset of equity, trade and director network data for these firms; participated in developing survey of keiretsu ties to be administered by Keidanren (Federation of Economic Organizations). Projects funded by the National Science Foundation, University of California Pacific Rim Program, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

  Graduate Student Researcher to Professor Earl Cheit. Conducted literature review and analysis of implications for Hong Kong's business and political outlook of its return to the People's Republic of China.
