Tamiya (3-7 Ondawara, Shizuoka)
http://www.tamiya.com/english/e-home.htm
Tamiya is the leading company for plastic models, electric radio controlled toys,
and paints for models in Japan. We visited the company's headquarters and
showroom in Shizuoka. We met a manager for International Sales Dept., and his
American assistant, and they took us an office tour.
We could see a typical Japanese-styled office of a medium~large sized company
in the country.

In the company showroom, Tamiya
Homestay with Japanese family
After the meeting with Tamiya, we met Japanese families who volunteered to have
us stay over night in their houses. Each one or two of us spent that night with
his/her host family. Everyone had an experience of real ordinary Japanese
life. Most of us experienced Japanese home cooking, used a Japanese bath, and
slept on futon, traditional cotton bedding on the floor! We all agreed that we had
a great experience and wished to stay with the families a bit longer...
