This small, quick, darting
fish measures less than 9 cm long and has a broad ugly head and tapering
body. Despite its unfortunately shaped noggin, the tidepool sculpin has
smooth skin without scales or prickles, and ranges from pleasing hues of
green to reddish-brown. It has irregular dark saddles on its back and possesses
large pectoral fins. Commonly found in the tidepool, it is camouflaged
very well in its environment.
