First of all, the middle man is MR. Phil Chang, a famous Taiwaner singer....He have released 13 CDs since 1993...btw, His head is very big!! hehehe... The young man at left is Mr. Kei kobayashi, a new Japanese Jazz singer...Dave had a showcase with him in Taiwan..His voice is soo nice..He is just 20 years old and comes from Jazz family, grandfather, father and mother are all jazz musicans!!! Dave, Phil and Kei all cooperate with EMI music Co.....the photo taken when they have a chat...What are they talking about?
Do you notice 3 flags behind them? They are U.S.A., R.O.C. and Janpan national flags..:-) Dave and Kei came to Taiwan and would like to promote their albums...So, Phil was very zealous and taught them introduce in Chinese..He taught Dave to say " My album is pleasant to hear"...Dave repeated after him and did very well. Then Phil played a joke on Dave and taught Kei to say " my album is more pleasant to hear than him (Dave) " ...But how bright our Dave is!!! Although Dave didn't understand what they saying..... According to Phil strange laughs and body language....Dave noticed it must be something unfair!!!! So he objected immediately ~~~~!!!!
After playing, the three big boys finally stoped to chat about music. Dave and Phil were chatting happliy and ignored Kei. What were Kei doing? Oh! He were drawing "something" by the side. Phil sat next to Kei and glanced at his works......suddenly!! He told everybody loudly " Hey!! So alike!!! So similar to Dave!!" unexpectedly, what Kei drawed is... "Mickey Mouse"!!!:-P~~~~ Dave answered Phil back " Hey! Come on~~~~ It's not me~~~ It's you !!!" After chatting, Kei gave his works to Dave and Phil.

After learning Chinese, Phil introduced one kind of Chinese children toys---lottery. You could open the lotteries, the numbers show the surprises you get..Let's see What Dave caught~~~He got some dolls...Isn't like the mischievous boy in your neighborhood? Then, Phil introduced a diabolo...but they all three tried many times and couldn't play it...By the way, Kei showed off his kickboard...After kei demonstrated, Dave tried to play it...hey! watch out!...ouch!! I am sorry he failed and collided with the door!! Dave, did you hurt?

Hi Janet, hopes this help....
I am so sorry that they cancelled his radio interview. I guess TV interview will give Dave a wider publicity. Here is some news (Chinese) about Dave (my short version of translation) and his picture.

Dave's first meal (lunch) in Taiwan was the most famous Shi-Chuan cuisine called Ma-La-Whoa-Gou. (Basically, VERY spicy Chinese fondue. I can tell you that not many people, even Chinese, dare to try it. Because it's so unbelievably hot!) But Dave did it and the media thought he was very brave. Dave was enjoying his lunch with a famous Taiwan singer, Chung. So the topics of the day between the two of them were cooking, traveling and music. They (Dave and Chung) found out that they had a few things in common, including their favorite city, Vancouver and their favorite guitarist, Mike Thompson (Hope I translate his name right). They had such a good time and decided to have a culture exchange. Chung will do a special appearance at Dave's concert in Taiwan and Dave will be in Chung's when Chung goes to the U.S. for his own concerts. Dave also mentioned that he would show his hospitality to Chung by taking him to Las Vegas and gambling big time there. (Is that really Dave??? Probably just something he had to say for the publicity in Taiwan.) Apparently this wasn't the first time that Dave came to Taiwan. He was in Taiwan 7 years ago for a promotion. And that was at the beginning of his career. He had a good impression then and loved Taiwan's night market. His stay in Taiwan will be 5 days.
Dave will be one of the special guests at the Golden Melody Awards (Taiwan's Grammy Equivalent) tomorrow.

Dave's so funny. In front of the Taiwan press, he used his newly learned Chinese and said "I am a crazy foreigner". Wow! I'm impressed. Now you can quiz Dave and ask him how to say "My kittie watches TV" in Chinese. The press thought he was friendly and easy going. And they loved his great sense of humor.
